How to claim an outpost, and some other stuff..
I'm in a rather small guild, currently not part of an alliance, and I can't seem to find any info on how this works.
1 - So how exactly do you claim an outpost? Does it cost faction, or do you simply have to earn more than the opposing guilds and then stay on top? If it costs faction, is there a minimum time you are guaranteed for the area or could you lose it 30 secs later if someone else claims it? 2 - A.Net talked about how the border between the territories would shift, and change who gets access to what, but so far it doesn't seem to.. Is this purely an alliance battles thing, and nothing to do with the towns in the world and that border present there? Last edited by prencher; May 13, 2006 at 05:16 AM // 05:16.. |

1. If you have enough faction to your alliance name to be high enough on the list, you get a town. There is no "buying." Either you have enough standing or you don't (as an alliance). I believe town ownership changes at the same time as the line, which is 3 hours if I remember correctly.
2. The line is changing minimally, generally across the harvest temple, although I have seen Seafarer's Rest in Kurzick hands, and Durheim Archives in Luxon hands, but never for more than one interation. The sides are balanced and set such that the losing side in terms of territory gains an advantage in alliance battles (to help them recover their losses, etc.). It's changing, but you have to actually look closely (or get lucky in timing) to see it. |

Thanks.
With regards to claiming outposts, doesn't that mean it'll just climb uncontrolably? E.g. even the smallest town eventually costing 4 mill faction, as all the top alliances have that amount faction? Also, have anybody figured out how severe the faction decay is yet? I'm guessing its percentage based or something to that extent. Last edited by prencher; May 13, 2006 at 07:59 AM // 07:59.. |

Decay is 10% per day. I don't know what time the decayed amount is removed.
